HOLY FAMILY SCHOOL HISTORY

Holy Family School a beacon of pride on the east side.

Holy Family is a small Catholic School on Erie's lower east side. Holy Family was founded in 1915 by the late Father Andrew Jurcak, then pastor of Holy Family Parish. The first classes were held in the basement of Holy Family Church until the parish could afford a separate school building. The present building was opened in September of 1949 under the leadership of the late Msgr. Stephen H. Meko. Holy Family School has educated thousands of children by dedicated religious and lay faculty members for over 85 years.
